After a mysterious and unfortunate start to 2022, (think floods in Brisbane and QPAC closing!), Sherlock Holmes will finally step onto QPAC’s Playhouse stage this March for the World Premiere of a new Australian work The Mystery of the Valkyrie.

Written and Directed by the extraordinary Michael Futcher, this epic play will have audiences on the edge of their seat as one of the most legendary characters of literature and screen takes them on a journey to unravel, and finally solve The Mystery of the Valkyrie.

Producer Alex Woodward:

Sherlock Holmes is the most adapted character in literary history, and we are so excited to bring the world’s most loved detective to life on stage at QPAC for the first time in our living memory. It’s going to be a fast, exciting, and action-packed show as we journey back to 221B Baker Street with Holmes, Watson, Adler and Moriarty.

Woodward and his team have assembled some of Australia’s finest theatre performers to premiere this new work including Eugene Gilfedder (A Christmas Carol, Othello) as Sherlock Holmes, Anthony Gooley (Boy Swallows Universe, A View from the Bridge, Death of a Salesman)  as Dr Watson, Bryan Probets (The Taming of the Shrew, The Holidays, The 39 Steps) as Professor Moriarty and Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Bureau of Magical Things, The Family Law, Death of a Salesman) as Irene Adler.
