THE GLITZ opens tonight at the Pink Flamingo Spiegelclub

Sue Porrett and Tony Rigas on behalf of the Pink Flamingo are thrilled to announce the captivating and lavish Australian production The Glitz, will open at the Pink Flamingo Spiegelclub, March 4th 2022.

Inspired by the original 1920’s Spiegeltent and the NYC Cabaret Club district, the Pink Flamingo opened late August 2019 in Broadbeach; just months before the first COVID-19 outbreak in November that would rock the entertainment industry globally for two years.

Powering through the pandemic, this coastal icon continued to wow crowds and retain talent releasing hit shows Suave, La Teaze, Flamboyance: Queens of Paradise, Slay and Ripped. Now state and international borders are open, the Pink Flamingo will shape up more local artistes to step into the limelight with new show The Glitz

Directors Sue Porrett and Tony Rigas said;

 It is an honour for our coast born company to premiere a new show and to have received such strong support throughout the global pandemic. We’re thrilled to bring The Glitz to Broadbeach, the heart of entertainment on the Gold Coast.” Ms Porrett went on to add, “The show’s artistic ethos of ‘Deluxe Maximalism’ is reflected in its opulent set, costumes, music and choreography making it a perfect match with the grandeur of the Pink Flamingo.

A symbol of 20th Century celebration, Hollywood and Gold Coast glamour, this production will be a spectacular and immersive experience to spur the return of entertainment and nightlife: “We’re grateful to Destination Gold Coast, Tom Tate and the City of Gold Coast for their support and determination to open both national and international borders. Their vision for the city’s cultural and entertainment experiences sits at the heart of the show’s artistic ambition and values. We feel certain that the Gold Coast and The Glitz will together make a memorable event for audiences and become a defining moment in Australia’s nightlife return.

Destination Gold Coast CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said:

The Gold Coast is Australia’s ultimate holiday playground and it is a strong vote of confidence to see our tourism operators reimagining their offerings. Congratulations to the Pink Flamingo for raising the bar on Gold Coast’s thriving cultural and entertainment offering.
