Broadway hit The Addams Family, making its Australian debut in Sydney in March next year, keeps getting bigger. Today, producer Rodney Rigby announced the ensemble that will round out the cast of the spooky musical.
The already announced principal cast features John Waters, Chloe Dallimore, Russell Dykstra, Teagan Wouters, Ben Hudson, Meredith O’Reilly, Tony Harvey, Katrina Retallick and Tim Maddren. Five boys will play the youngest Addams, Pugsley.
Members of the ensemble joining the principal cast are Jakob Ambrose, Andrew Broadbent, Emma Clark, Cristina D’Agostino, Matt Heyward, Kelly Hoskin, Zoe Komazec, Peter Lowrey, Jordan Pollard, Justine Puy, Warwick Reid, Samantha Riley, Lisa Sontag, Shane Stepien, and Robert Tripolino.
The Addams Family is a new story for the original cast of characters, telling the story of a grown-up Wednesday Addams who has fallen in love with someone “normal.” The family is horrified to discover this, and even more so when they realise they have to host a dinner family for the boyfriend and his parents.
Written by Jersey Boys scribes Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, it will be directed in Australia by Broadway legend Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.
Performances begin from 10 March 2013 and tickets are available from addamsfamilythemusical.com.au
