Pop the champagne and confetti, as Adelaide Cabaret Festival gets ready to celebrate its 25th Birthday, with tickets to The 2025 Variety Gala on sale today, Monday December 2.
Returning as host extraordinaire, Adelaide Cabaret Festival Artistic Director Virginia Gay will present the gift that keeps on giving: world class performers and magical musical moments, all wrapped up in her trademark wit and charm. The evening will be held next year at the stunning Her Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday, June 5.
The ever popular and glittering red-carpet affair will be a birthday celebration like no other, with stand out performances by a brilliant lineup of local and international stars, to be announced soon… stay tuned.
The one night only show will officially kick off Adelaide Cabaret Festival 2025 and will also feature the exciting announcement of next year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival Icon Award Winner. This year the award was presented to multi-award-winning Australian cabaret star Reuben Kaye.

We’re back, baby! I could not be more excited to light the sparklers, pour the Pol, and celebrate Adelaide Cabaret Festival’s 25th birthday (25? we don’t look a day over 24…) with our glorious Adelaide audiences.
We’ll showcase our incredible lineup of local and international acts and give you a tasting plate of the delicious treats we have in store for 2025. The gala is a highlight of the arts calendar in South Australia and one of the hottest tickets in town, so get ready to put on your birthday best (but not your birthday suit, it’s the middle of winter) and let’s raise a glass together – to cabaret.

Produced and presented by Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide Cabaret Festival has grown from modest beginnings to become one of Australia’s major winter festivals and the largest cabaret festival in the world. The festival has been a platform for shows and performers who have achieved critical acclaim and featured world-renowned artists including Ms Lisa Fischer, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, and Tim Minchin, to name a few.
