Sydneysiders are invited to Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett in the Spiegeltent

Summer in Sydney just got a whole lot hotter, and sexier, with über-award-winning German kabarett superstar Bernie Dieter, announcing she is bringing her infamous troupe of bombastic Bohemians to Sydney for a debut season.

Popping up from 15 February to 12 March 2022, Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett will bring the Spiegeltent to First Fleet Park, on the foreshore of Circular Quay and MCA, The Rocks, for an unforgettable month.

Direct from London’s glittering West End, Dieter’s long anticipated Sydney debut season has gone on sale today and tickets are expected to move quickly.

For the first time Sydney audiences are invited into the darkest, funniest and most debauched kabarett show East of Berlin! A gin-soaked, Weimar-punk jazz band soundtracks a hazy, immersive night of dangerously funny kabarett, gender-bending circus and fire-breathing sideshow at its most inappropriate, provocative and hilarious best.

An electrifying cross between Lady Gaga, Marlene Dietrich and Frank-N-Futer in sequins, Dieter has cemented herself as one of the standout kabarett artists of her generation, blending dangerously funny original songs, sequins and a deviant eye for debaucherous mayhem!

“Like the notorious kabarett clubs of Weimar Germany, this show is the ultimate party at the end of the world, where my family of misfits and I stick a defiant middle finger up at the past 2 years and celebrate freedom and difference in all its forms. Come and play!” said Bernie Dieter.

A world-renowned Queen of Kabarett, Dieter’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe show (2019) was the ‘Top 5 best reviewed shows’ out of over 3800, and debuted in London to eighteen five-star reviews in the same year.

There is no fourth wall, no rules, and no seat is safe in this dark and defiant den of iniquity.

Welcome to the Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett where you can be whoever you want to be.

Tickets are on sale from Thursday 16 December at sydneyfringe.com/events/bernie-dieters-club-kabarett/. Get in quick, Sydneysiders should not miss their chance to party with this German über-star in the New Year!

This season of Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett in the Spiegeltent is made possible via a unique collaboration between Australian independent concert and touring company Zaccaria, Dead Man Label, Sydney Fringe, and the New South Wales Government through Placemaking NSW.

Kerri Glasscock, Chief Executive Officer of Sydney Fringe said

We are absolutely thrilled to be joining forces with Placemaking NSW, Zaccaria and Dead Man Label to bring Sydney this incredible show, and their first ever Bernie Dieter experience!

Anita Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of Placemaking NSW said

2022 is shaping up to be a cracking year with great opportunities for people to come back to the city and socialise after a long lockdown. Arts and live performances are coming back with a bang. We are excited to be partnering with The Sydney Fringe once again, which will continue to position The Rocks as a great place for Sydneysiders to socialise.
