Sydney Theatre Company presents ‘Nights at The Wharf’, free parties in celebration of Aleshea Harris’ Is God Is

Throughout October, Sydney Theatre Company will host ‘Nights at The Wharf’, three free post-show parties with music from Sounds of Afrobeats DJs to celebrate the critically acclaimed season of Aleshea Harris’ Is God Is directed by Zindzi Okenyo and Shari Sebbens.

For three consecutive Friday nights on October 6, 13 and 20, Sydney Theatre Company’s iconic harbour venue, The Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf, will host FREE events offering exclusive cocktail menus, soul-filling food, visual art, and DJs from the African diaspora curated by Sounds of AfroBeats.

Directed by the powerhouse duo of Zindzi Okenyo and STC Resident Director Shari Sebbens (seven methods of killing kylie jenner) and co-produced with Melbourne Theatre Company, Is God Is offers a ”thrilling, startling and irresistable” (Sydney Morning Herald) theatre experience that will have you balancing on the edge of your seat.

Inspired by Spaghetti Westerns, hip-hop and Afropunk, this darkly comic production takes audiences on unforgettable journey as twin sisters embark on a mission of retribution. Their quest for justice takes them on a thrilling odyssey delving deep into the complexities of identity, fate, and the power of resilience.

Is God Is  plays STC’s WHARF 1Theatre until 21 October 2023.

‘Nights at The Wharf’ post-show parties FREE ENTRY from 9pm Friday 6, 13 and 21 October are supported by City of Sydney.
