Sybil, Basil and Manuel play Perth in the Faulty Towers Dining Experience!

Interactive Theatre International this week announced it will bring The Faulty Towers Dining Experience to Perth, as part of Fringe World 2012.

The show will play a two week season at Rigby’s Bar and Bistro, 221 St George’s Terrace Perth. Touring Asia and Australia since 1997 the show had enjoyed a sell out season at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2008.

Hailed as “a masterpiece of comic timing that is utterly compelling” (Edinburgh Spotlight, Edinburgh Fringe 2001) Faulty Towers Dining Experience is an interactive dining show that brings alive the characters from the television series as they deliver a tribute, that includes all the best gags, while the audience enjoys a three course meal.

The fun starts as you wait to be seated, and it hurtles along for two hours where the audience are the diners and Sybil, Basil and Manuel their fractious waiters.

With the show only partly scripted every night is unique. Sybil, Basil and Manuel take cues from the audience to continue to create comedy, Fawuty Towers style.

Playing the frustrated Basil is Michael Davoren, his annoying wife Sybil, Karen Hamilton and the Spanish speaking waiter, Manuel by Andy Foreman.

Faulty Towers premiered on BBC2 in 1975 and was written and starred John Cleese. Only 12 episodes were made in its two seasons.
