Homegrown musical Priscilla continues to make waves internationally, with a Broadway debut imminent and the show receiving several Olivier Award nominations in London.
The musical, which stars Australian theatre veteran Tony Sheldon as Bernadette, has been nominated for Best New Musical in London alongside Spring Awakening, Sister Act and Dreamboats And Petticoats.
Tony Sheldon has been nominated for Best Actor In A Musical, whilst Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner have been nominated for Best Costume Design.
The news comes as Sheldon prepares to leave the hit West End production. He will perform the role of Bernadette for the last time on March 8, before Don Gallagher takes over.
Priscilla has been an incredible journey for Sheldon, who started with the production when it opened in Sydney and has continued to gain acclaim and excellent reviews ever since.
And could the next step for the actor be Broadway?
Latest rumours suggest that Priscilla will have its New York debut on March 6, 2011, becoming one of the few Australian musicals to make it to Broadway.
Priscilla has now extended its London season, with the show to run until at least February next year.
