STC extends five shows

As general ticket sales open for Sydney Theatre Company’s 2010 productions on Tuesday, December 1 at 9am, the seasons of five Main Stage shows are being extended.

Uncle Vanya featuring Cate Blanchett, John Bell, Richard Roxburgh and Hugo Weaving directed by Tamás Ascher; Steppenwolf’s originating production of August: Osage County; Sam Shepard’s True West directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman; Stockholm, the collaboration with Britain’s Frantic Assembly; and the rarely-seen classic, Our Town, will all have longer runs than originally announced.

“In addition to the five we’re extending already, other shows such as Long Day’s Journey Into Night and The Trial are also proving to be very popular but touring commitments mean extensions will not be possible,” said Sydney Theatre Company General Manager, Rob Brookman.

“We expect that all these shows and the much anticipated Australian premiere of hit Broadway musical Spring Awakening will appeal to single ticket buyers just as they have to Season Ticket Holders.”

General tickets for individual shows are available from 9am on Tuesday, December 1. Season Tickets with numerous special benefits will continue to be available.

Box Office: (02) 9250 1777.
