The cast for the Sydney Theatre Company’s upcoming production of the musical Spring Awakening has been confirmed.
With an exceptional score ranging from power ballads to grunge anthems that capture the spinetingling highs and lows of youthful desire,Spring Awakening has all the energy of a rock concert and all the power of a great drama.
A new generation of performers, cast from open auditions, will take to the stage to realise this Tony Award-winning musical. It may be 1891 but when these exceptional singers burst into song they express electric inner worlds that will be instantly recognisable to anyone who is – or ever was – a teenager.
The cast is: Akos Armont, Clare Bowen, Ali Calder, Olivia Charalambous, Thomas Conroy, Helen Dallimore, Edward Grey, Andrew Hazzard, Nicholas Kong, Erica Lovell, Scott Morris, Angela Scundi, Rebecca Lee Slade, Christy Sullivan, Jamie Ward and Alex Woodward.
The production plays at the Sydney Theatre from February 2010.
