Audiences in Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney will have another chance to hear one of the world’s best-known natural history film-makers talk about his life and work. If you saw him last time you will be eager to see him again and, if you missed out in 2012, here is your second chance.

Attenborough’s mellifluous tones and warm personality have entertained and educated generations of viewers, ever since he joined the BBC Television Talks Department in 1952. From there he went on to become Controller of BBC2 and was responsible for the introduction of colour television in Britain. For some four years he was Director of Programmes with editiorial responsibility for both of the BBC’s television networks, before resigning to return to programme making, claiming “I haven’t even seen the Galapagos Islands”.

Millions of people across the world, not least in Australia, were fascinated by Attenborough’s 13-part series Life on Earth, which he wrote and presented, along with its sequels The Living Planet and The Trials of Life. One of his most popular productions was Frozen Planet which screened on the Nine Network and his latest project Africa will begin this week on the Ten Network.

If you want to learn more about Attenborough’s life, his untold stories, the evolution of filming techniques and his passion for bringing us closer to nature, then Sir David Attenborough – A Life on Earth is a must see.

    • I agree! I was at his very last show (in Melbourne) and Ray Martin looked bored the whole time. I asked on the FB if someone else was hosting so we'll just see

The information we received from the publicity department is as per the article above. I'd say the dates you are looking at are from last year's tour.

      Hope this helps,
