 Melbourne’s shortest and sexiest cabaret festival returns to Chapel Off Chapel under the artistic direction of Emma Clair Ford.   After the resounding success of the 2011 season, Emma is back for another year, featuring up to forty brand new, innovative acts from Australia’s freshest cabaret talent, for two weeks from October 26th to November 6th. Vaudeville, Burlesque, Comedy, Storytelling, Cabaret Noir – what ever your inclination, Short+Sweet Cabaret is bound to have something for you. Following quickly behind is the well established Short and Sweet Theatre season running from November 2nd to 12th. Experimental. Subversive. Dangerous. Sensual. Poetic. Funny. Disturbing. Transforming. Brilliant. Visual. Physical. Plays that catapult the next vanguard of Melbourne’s directors, actors, writers and independent theatre companies right in your face – ten minutes at a time.Under the new Artistic Direction of international award-winning theatre-maker & playwright Anthony Crowley – the 2011 Melbourne Festival will deliver up to forty new theatre works over two exhilarating weeks from November 2 to 12.Short+Sweet aims to provide established and emerging artists with a professional platform to create and present their work.
