Search on for Rock Of Ages star

The nation-wide search is on to find a good-looking young guy to play the role of Drew Boley, a lead character in Rock Of Ages

The nation-wide search is on to find a good-looking young guy to play the role of Drew Boley, a lead character in Rock Of Ages

This guy has a boyish quality, great comedic timing, and is a potential rock star, working at a Sunset Strip Club in search of his dreams.

Auditions for Drew will be held in Melbourne on Saturday, August 14 and Sydney on Sunday, August 15.

Producers say the actor should be a young guy that can rock, with an incredible, stand-out voice, a gritty rock sound, to sing 18 songs throughout Rock Of Ages. A subtle sense of humour is big plus

Rock Of Ages is a hilarious, feel-good love story, told through the hit songs such as: `I Want to Know What Love Is,’ `Don’t Stop Believin’, `The Final Countdown’, `We Built This City,’ and `More Than Words’ by iconic rockers such as Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Poison, Starship, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake and many more.

Rock Of Ages was nominated for Five 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Costume Design of a Musical, and Best Sound Design for a Musical.

Rock Of Ages is currently playing on Broadway and in Toronto, with productions planned around the world.

Set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small-town girl meets a big-city dreamer – and in L.A.’s most legendary rock club, they fall in love to the greatest songs of the ‘80’s.  It’s an awesomely good time where big hair meets big dreams, in a Rock `n’ Roll Comedy Romance.
