Sydney awoke to something special this week as the cast of RENT gathered on the steps of the Sydney Opera House to perform the iconic anthem Seasons of Love. Filmed at sunrise against the backdrop of the harbour, the performance captured the spirit of Jonathan Larson’s beloved musical in one of the world’s most recognisable locations.
The video release serves as a reminder that RENT opens at the Sydney Opera House on 27 September for a strictly limited six-week season.
Since its Broadway debut in 1996, RENT has become a global phenomenon, inspiring audiences with its story of love, loss, and community. The Sydney season promises an electrifying revival of the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, featuring some of Australia’s most exciting stage talent.
Performing Seasons of Love as the sun rose over Circular Quay not only celebrated the show’s enduring themes but also set the stage for its highly anticipated Opera House run.
Tickets are now on sale, with demand expected to be strong for this limited engagement.
