Rare species brought to life in new puppetry theatre work ARC by Erth

Rare and vulnerable species including snow leopards, hammerhead sharks and elephants will be brought to life on stage in new puppetry-based theatre work ARC by Erth at Arts Centre Melbourne’s Fairfax Studio from 15 – 16 October.

The tale of beauty and fragility by Erth Visual & Physical Inc will present intimate and magical encounters with creatures from the natural world, raising important questions about the world’s relationship with nature and loss.

Creative Producer, Families & Children at Arts Centre Melbourne Mary Harvey:

The arts are an incredible tool to shine a light on science, sustainability, current affairs and our planet, providing children a different pathway to ask questions about their world. ARC builds on Erth’s rich history of creating beautiful puppets of endangered and vulnerable species to explore conservation – a topic that highly impacts young people now and in their future.

Renowned as innovators of physical and visual theatre, Erth’s body of work has explored the depths of the past. ARC is a profound experience that embraces the natural world and the creatures that co-habit this place we call Earth.

Erth returns to Arts Centre Melbourne following successful seasons of Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo and Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium. With ARC, they look unblinkingly to the future as this menagerie of rare and exotic animals transform the stage before your very eyes.
