From the tiniest longhorn beetle to the majestic southern right whale and the ancient Galapagos tortoise, Dead Puppet Society recounts the tale of scientific visionary Charles Darwin’s voyage on the HMS Beagle in The Wider Earth.
Aussie Theatre’s QLD correspondent Bobbi-Lea was given a sneak peak of the puppets in the rehearsal room and caught up with a few members of the cast and crew of the Dead Puppet Society to talk about having the world on a string; Nicholas Paine (creative producer), Anna Straker (puppet captain), and Thomas Larkin (actor and puppeteer).
The Wider Earth will be playing at QTC’s Bille Brown Studio from 9 July – 7 August. QTC will also be holding a Night with the Artists on Thursday 21 July and Thursday 4 August. For more information, see the Queensland Theatre Company website.
