Patrons want cheaper tickets

Cheaper tickets would make theatre-goers attend more shows, according to a survey.

A poll conducted on AussieTheatre.com asked patrons what would make them go to the theatre more. A whopping 81.4 per cent said cheaper theatre tickets was the answer.

10.9 per cent of respondents said better quality productions would entice them to see more shows, whilst 3.8 per cent rated more Australian work as an important factor in bringing them into the theatre.

Ticket prices have been an ongoing issue for theatre fans, with most commercial musicals charging around $100 a ticket.
