Opera Australia to present Anything Goes, 2015

Opera Australia have launched their 2015 season today and in amongst the plethora of shows to be presented is a saucy little gem called Anything Goes.

Anything GoesSet aboard a cruise liner en route from New York to London, Cole Porter’s musical will follow South Pacific and The King and I in the September/October slot at the Sydney Opera House in 2015. Co-presented by John Frost, the show will also play at the Princess Theatre Melbourne from June 2 – July 19 and at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre Brisbane from July 28.

The musical theatre model within the Opera Australia framework has proven highly successful for the company, with previous OA/John Frost production South Pacific breaking box office records during its premiere season at the Joan Sutherland Theatre in 2012 and The King and I adding a 9th performance in most weeks at the Opera House due to demand.

No cast have been announced for the production at this stage, but Dean Bryant has been confirmed as director and Andrew Hallsworth has come on board as choreographer. Peter Casey will musically direct the production, following his involvement with the company as Musical Director of The King and I.

Season dates are available on Opera Australia’s website
