Featuring a dynamic cast of 23, MUST returns to the Alexander Theatre with William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
This intensely theatrical and profoundly personal production highlights the play’s evocative, razor-sharp verse that gallops along.
The play exposes the corrosive nature of Macbeth’s unbridled power-lust and political ambition, speaking to us with contemporary immediacy. It explores the repercussions of glorifying masculine strength and disregarding humanity in pursuit of glory; drawing the audience into the mental anguish of a murderer, who is simultaneously a free agent and a victim of fate.
Director Yvonne Virsik :
As rehearsals have progressed we’ve found ourselves falling more and more in love with the beautiful poetry of the play – at once both sharply economical and emotionally expansive.
Staging some of their most memorable productions in partnership with MPAC in The Alexander Theatre, under the direction of MUST Aussie Theatre on Spring Awakening. beautiful and affecting… you are left with your heart in your mouth.
David Finnigan’s Kill Climate Deniers:
Compelling and electric theatre that needs to be seen”:
This must-see production of Macbeth promises to haunt the memory forever.
