A Chorus Line Announce More Cast

Two more pieces of A Chorus Line’s casting puzzle fell into place today.

The producers had previously announced that Debora Krizak is to be playing Sheila Bryant, AussieTheatre.com can now also confirm that the roles of Zach and Cassie will be filled by Josh Horner and Anita Louise Combe respectively.

Broadway, Dirty Dancing and Dancing With the Stars) said of taking on the role of the formidable Broadway Director “This role of Zach really speaks to me. You see people giving their heart and soul and you are in control of their dreams. I’ve been on both sides of that role so A Chorus Line mirrors perfectly my life as a dancer.”

Anita Louise Comb, who will be starring in the role of Cassie made her professional debut as SilDance Photographylibub in the Australian Premiere Production of Cats and has since gone to play Cosette in Les Mis, both Roxie and Velma in Chicago on the West End, Betty in Sunset Boulevard and created the role of Stephanie Mangano in the World Premiere of Saturday Night Fever opposite Adam Garcia.

Producer Tim Lawson says “We are thrilled with the amazing pool of talent the auditions have uncovered. Selecting the final cast has been incredibly exciting and audiences are going to be blown away by the dynamic mix of new discoveries and highly established stars.”

AussieTheatre.com can also confirm that A Chorus Line will be coming straight to Melbourne after its limited Adelaide season and opening at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 4 February 2012.
