The US Cast of Million Dollar Quartet
It was announced this week that the Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet is set to tour Australia from December this year.
Produced by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, AKA and TEG DAINTY in association with Mark Goucher and Simon Friend the production will open at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne on December 8, 2016 before heading to Sydney, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth.
The Tony Award winning musical was inspired by the true story of the famous 1956 recording session at Sun Records in Memphis that brought together icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time for one incredible impromptu jam session.
Million Dollar Quartet brings to light the extraordinary story of broken promises, secrets, and the once-in-a-lifetime celebration of four young friends that is both poignant and heart-warming.
The production, which has been been running since 2013 at Harrah’s Showroom in Las Vegas, requires an exceptional set of skills with cast members playing instruments live on stage.
AussieTheatre.com believes that auditions are currently underway.
