Matthew Robinson joins Eurobeat cast

Matthew Robinson is amongst the cast for the forthcoming Brisbane production of Eurobeat.

Eurobeat is scheduled to open at the QPAC Lyric Theatre on November 25.

Channel Seven’s Packed To The Rafters actress Zoe Ventura will bring her glamour and talent to the stage as the voluptuous Persephone from Greece, having thrilled audiences in this part in the West End production of Eurobeat in 2006.

Robinson, star of Opera Australia’s recent productions of A Little Night Music and My Fair Lady and Kookaburra’s Pippin, is also known for his roles in television shows The Singing Office and Spielberg’s The Pacific. Robinson will play Sheiner (in the duo Reyne and Sheiner), sure to make the UK a strong contender in this fun take on Eurovision song contest.

Local talent joining the crew includes Brisbane’s Jordan S Pollard, popular star of Harvest Rain Theatre Company’s recent production ofJoseph And The Amazing technicolour Dreamcoat, who will become a member of the fabulous foursome from Sweden, AVLA.

QPAC’s Executive Producer Programming, Ross Cunningham, said that Eurobeat is perfect for the end of the year staff party.

Co-starring Rhonda Burchmore and Glynn Nicholas as your Bosnian hosts Boyka and Sergei, Eurobeat is an all-Australian success story. Written by Craig Christie and Andrew Patterson it has been produced by Glynn Nicholas Group in Ireland, Korea, Switzerland and on the West End.
