Maggie Kirkpatrick will return to the stage as Madame Morrible in the first leg of Wicked’s 10th anniversary tour, which is set to commence in New Zealand this September.
Kirkpatrick originated the role of Madame Morrible in the 2008 Australian premiere of Wicked at the Regent Theatre Melbourne, and it well known to Australian audiences as Joan “The Freak” Ferguson, a sadistic and corrupt lesbian prison ofifcer in Prisoner. Her television and film credits are lengthy and her live theatrical pursuits are equally as impressive, having worked extensively with theatre companies across the country.
As the prickly headmistress of Shiz, Kirkpatrick joins a stellar cast that includes Jemma Rix as Elphaba, Suzie Mathers as Glinda, and Jay Laga’aia as The Wizard.
One of Australia’s most successful musicals of recent years, Wicked will return to Australia in 2014 as part of its 10th anniversary celebration tour.
The New Zealand premiere of this blockbuster musica will take place at The Civic in Auckland from 17th September 2013.
