Local girl WANTS it all!• Local talent, Louise Kelly makes her third cabaret performance• Gimme – a cabaret focused on songs about want-START- You may have seen her doing the grocery shopping at the local Woolies? Or it may have been that she strikes an amazing resemblance to the woman on that EFTPOS ad who makes a baby cry because she’s not wearing any make-up? Or was it when you saw her in many starring roles in musical phenomenon’s like Mamma Mia and Billy Elliott that you realized one of our local gals was that big star! Locals have been busy putting a name to that face recently as the acting chops of local, Louise Kelly, who has gained more and more recognition. And now, the performer is taking to the stage to star in her own show –‘Gimme-A Cabaret about WANT’.“I’m so excited to get the opportunity to perform the songs I love, and the songs which have inspired me, especially for all the people who have supported my career’ said Louise Kelly.  “It’s a humorous, relaxed and intimate night looking at our most basic of human wants – love, respect, a better life, the ability to raise one eyebrow! “ she said.Kelly has performed the show twice this year and is bringing it back, this time in Kings Cross, due to popular demand. “People have given me some great feedback and I just love connecting with an audience and, hopefully, share the joy that I experience through music and laughs” said Louise.Louise has lived in the Riverwood area since she was 4 (with a short 5 year stint in Melbourne). She also attributes her “training” to the many amateur theatrical societies throughout the St George/Sutherland region. “My very first show was at Engadine Musical Society” she remembers proudly. “Then it was a 10 year learning period with Regals Musical Society, the Guild Theatre Rockdale, Miranda Musical Society. The skills I learnt from all of those companies definitely helped me get my first professional gig in Mamma Mia.” She is now a proud Punchbowl resident and hopes to be able to continue to share her talents with the local community. “My next show is in Kings Cross but I hope to do a show in the local area soon. Either way, having the support of people from my area is something which inspires me, and reminds me how lucky I am to have such a great job.” said Louise. “I want it all, and at times, I think I actually might just have it all …… except when my 18 month old screams at me for two hours at 1am! Then I WANT to be alone on an island somewhere” she said.Louise’s show ‘Gimme’ is on two nights, Mon 15th & Tues 16th August at the El Rocco Room in Kings Cross.
