Looking for Little People: Les Miserables open kids auditions, Melbourne

Les Miserables has been the talk of the Australian music theatre industry since its return to Oz was confirmed just over 12 months ago. Its famous logo – an illustration of Young Cossette taken from Victor Hugo’s epic novel – is one of the most recognisable on the theatrical stage.

Today, casting director for the Australian premiere of Cameron Mackintosh’s new production Michael Cassel, has announced that the search is on to find Australia’s Young Cossette and the two other child roles featured in this iconic musical (Young Eponine and the loveable street urchin Gavroche).

On Saturday 8 February and Sunday 9 February, Cassel and his team will be at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance searching for Melbourne-based children who can sing and act to feature in this classic music theatre work. No prior preparation of material is required, but all young hopefuls should wear comfortable clothing on the day.

Height and age restrictions apply to these roles due to legal and creative requirements and children successful in being invited for call-backs must be available on subsequent days.

For more information, visit michaelcassel.com/casting and fill in the registration form. Details on what to bring to the audition can also be found via this link.
