Lemon off to Chicago Billy

The seasoned musical theatre performer Genevieve Lemon will play the role of Mrs Wilkinson in the forthcoming Chicago production of the blockbuster musicalBilly Elliot.

Lemon played the role in both the Sydney and Melbourne seasons of the musical.

The Helpmann Award winner is known for her work both on television and on stage, where her CV features such major shows as Priscilla.

It is not out of the question that Lemon’s Chicago role will lead to her playing the role on Broadway, where two young Australians – Dayton Tavares and Michael Dameski – are working on Billy Elliot.

Lemon has described winning the role as a “dream come true”.
