US-based Master Acting Teacher Lynette Sheldon is in Australia to present a series of high-level Master Classes for working actors.
The Australian-born, US-trained actress/coach/director has, for the last nine years, divided her time between New York, Los Angeles and Sydney. She is returning now, to continue training Australian actors.
Ms Sheldon was mentored in the Stanislavski Technique with legendary teachers Larry Moss and Stella Adler (who taught Marlon Brando, Robert
De Niro, Bennicio Del Toro and Harvey Keitel – among other screen icons), before launching an acting career that included stage and screen appearances with the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino and Bill Murray.
For more than a decade now, she has brought her considerable experience, knowledge and inspiration to training a new generation of award-winning actors and film makers, blending the Adler/Stanislavski technique with her Australian influences.
Her own master classes and weekend intensives are in great demand in the US and in Australia when she visits. Prominent Australian students of Ms Sheldon include: Zoe Ventoura, Bren Foster, Dichen Lachman, Amy Mathews, Chrissie Amphlett, Matt Edgerton, Samantha Noble, Simon Brooke McLachlan, Tanc Sade, Warwick Allsop and Kate Maree Hoolihan among countless others.
Her next series began this weekend, followed by two more similar courses on the weekends starting December 3 and December 10.
A new series of weekly Tuesday night master classes will run from January 11 to April 12 (advanced) and Fridays from January 14 to April 15 (intermediate) as well as a two week master class intensive in Melbourne in March.
All Sydney classes will be held at St Columba, corner Forth & Ocean Streets, Woollahra.
Bookings and enquiries can be made on (02) 8230 0445 to Ms Sheldon’s assistant Helen on 0401 550 563 or by email [email protected].
