The Australian Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF) is excited to be warming up for their 2022 event, to be held in Launceston next May.
This is the premier event on the calendar for musical theatre professionals, aspiring professionals, teachers, students and supporters. It provides an opportunity to celebrate, engage, perform, learn, connect and enjoy a genre that brings so much delight to the community.
The 2022 lineup features some huge names. The diverse range of carefully curated presenters includes; a recording artist turned performer, who is now a household name; a multi-award winning actor and singer, who has performed in Australia, the West End and New York; and an icon of Australian musical theatre, with broad experience across all aspects of the industry.
The Festival Program will feature performances, workshops, special events and a specific schools program to help nurture, build confidence and foster networks for talented young people from across the country.
Festival Artistic Director Tyran Parke is beyond excited for the 2022 event.
Our 2021 festival brought so much joy, in what had been a difficult eighteen months for the arts industry, and our communities as a whole. To be able to bring that joy back again, even bigger and better, is such a privilege. Being able to have so much incredible talent together over five days, in a town that adores the arts community, is such an uplifting experience. And we know that for many attendees and students the event is life changing!”
The Australian Musical Theatre Festival is supported by the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania, the City of Launceston, Theatre North and many local businesses.
Curtains will go up on the headliners on Wednesday 8 December 2021. Please join at the Official Program Launch and Headliner Announcement.
In attendance will be Elizabeth Bennett (AMTF Acting Chair,) Danny Gibson (AMTF Secretary), John X (Tasmanian Ambassador) plus other special guests.
