Australia’s most prolific theatre producer John Frost told AussieTheatre that the theatre-going public need only hold out until next month for an official 2015 announcement from the GFO office.

Frost is currently producing Grease (Perth), Rocky Horror, The King and I, Wicked (Melbourne) and will co-produce Tony Award winning musical Once with the Melbourne Theatre Company in Melbourne after The King and I transfers out of the Princess Theatre.

In recent years, Frost has presented some of the biggest musical theatre blockbusters to hit Australian shores, generating hundreds of jobs across many sectors of the arts. The 2014 recipient of the prestigious J.C Williamson Award, has also taken a great interest in the development of new musicals, having produced several (Dr Zhivago and An Officer and a Gentleman) and announcing intent to develop others (Dream Lover – the Bobby Darin story and Red Dog based on the Australian film of the same name).

  • Musicals I want to come to Australia:

    The Little Mermaid
    Aladdin
If/Then (I am willing to wait a bit for these 2 as they are new on Broadway)
A return of Beauty and the Beast would be great.

These are my big ones at the moment. But really, I’ll take anything.
