With the adaptation of In The Heights now in cinemas, stars of the film Olga Merediz and Jimmy Smits have sent a special message to Australian audiences in a new interview with Popcorn Podcast. Merediz, who originated her role of Abuela Claudia in the Broadway musical, cheers “Go Australia” as Smits hopes fans of the Washington-Heights-set story will be able to see it on the big screen. Joined by young co-star Gregory Diaz IV, the revered actors also share their love for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s story and reveal their characters’ suenitos – or little dreams.
In The Heights is in Australian cinemas from June 24.
