One of the nation’s most respected theatres is set for a major upgrade with the call going out to supporters in an attempt to raise some $1 million for an overhaul.
The renovation will involve restoring the brick walls of the theatre and re-designing the bar, box office and bathroom facilities in the foyer.
The seating will also be re-configured to cater for the comfort of patrons, whilst the theatre’s much-maligned dressing rooms would be overhauled.
The work will take place over three years and is set to be completed in 2012.
Donations are now being called for – no matter how big or how small.
