GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY cast announced

Producers GWB Entertainment and Damien Hewitt today announced further cast for the Australian premiere of Girl from the North Country.

AFI Winner Peter Kowitz, Helpmann Award-winners Christina O’Neill and Greg Stone, and Grant Piro join previously announced cast members Lisa McCune, Zahra Newman, Terence Crawford, Helen Dallimore and Peter Carroll. Chemon Theys, Samantha Morley, Liam Wigney, Tony Cogin and Laurence Coy feature in the impressive ensemble, with a band featuring Mark Harris, Tracey Lynch and Cameron Henderson performing live on stage under Musical Director Andrew Ross.

After sold-out seasons on the West End and Broadway, Girl From The North Country has taken the theatrical world by storm and is now one of the most critically acclaimed productions of the 21st Century.

Featuring the songs of Bob Dylan beautifully reimagined, this feel-good tale of 1930s American life centres around a group of wanderers who cross paths at a Minnesota guest house. Standing at a turning point in their lives, they search for a future, hide from the past, and face unspoken truths about the present.

Written and directed by multi-award-winner Conor McPherson (The Weir, The Seafarer), Girl From The Country stars stage and screen icon Lisa McCune, Zahra Newman (The Book of Mormon), Terence Crawford (The Babadook) and Helpmann Award winners Helen Dallimore and Peter Carroll.

Experience this modern masterpiece during its Australian Premiere season with Sydney Festival 2022, as it captures the hope and heartbreak written by Dylan himself, “May your heart always be joyful. May your song always be sung.”
