Cabaret veteran Natalie Gamsu will hit the stage at Sydney’s new cabaret venue this Saturday.
She’ll perform her show Misfit at the Cosmopolitan Cafe in Double Bay from 9pm.
Misfit features Natalie alongside pianist and composer Jonathan Cooper and a rogue’s gallery of prostitutes and pimps, sodomites and sluts, and some sorrowful souls who have accidentally fallen through the cracks in society’s thin veneer.
With songs by Noel Coward, Kurt Weill, Scott Walker, The Divine Comedy, Yazoo, Annie Lennox and Jonathan himself (amongst others) we learn of the wicked ways of those who live on the margins of life: how to live disgracefully into old age, how to permanently scrounge a living, how to sell your body, how to sell your soul, how to shake it like jelly on a plate, how to dream of killing your lover, and how to marry a one-legged sailor from Venezuela…..
Dinner is at 7pm with the show from 9pm. For details, logon to www.moshtix.com.au or call 1300 438 849.
