Eleven leading ladies of Australian musical theatre (and one leading man!) will take to the stage together in The Production Company’s third and final offering for 2015 – Jerry’s Girls.
Showcasing the music of Broadway legend Jerry Herman, directed and choreographed by Helpmann Award winning duo Dean Bryant and Andrew Hallsworth and musically directed by Matthew Frank, this production is a rare opportunity to see the cream of Australia’s female talent sharing the stage for 20 performances only.
Christie Whelan Browne, Virginia Gay, Claire Lyon, Josie Lane, Natalie O’Donnell, Rhonda Burchmore, Nancye Hayes, Silvie Paladino, Kirby Burgess, Chelsea Gibb and Debora Krizak along with acclaimed performer Brent Hill will share the spotlight, singing some of Herman’s iconic show stoppers at Arts Centre Melbourne from November 21.
Jerry’s Girls is set to be a celebration of Australia’s female performers and each leading Lady plays a version of herself in this fun and intimate look at the backstage mayhem and onstage razzle dazzle of show business.
Bryant and Hallsworth are contextualising the songs to give drive and comedy to the evening, moving between two worlds: the show itself and the rehearsal process.
Two extra performances on Sundays November 29 and December 6 go on sale 9am next Monday.
