Full cast of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical announced

The full cast of Beautiful the Musical was announced this morning by producer Michael Cassel ahead of its opening at the newly refurbished Sydney Lyric on 17 of September this year.

Joining previously announced Esther Hannaford as Carole King will be Josh Piterman as Gerry Goffin, musical theatre star Amy Lehpamer as Cynthia Weil, Mat Verevis as Barry Mann, Mike McLeish as Don Kirshner and Anne Wood as Corole King’s mother Genie Klein.

The full company also include Jason Arrow, Stefanie Caccamo, Doron Chester, Barry Conrad, Andrew Cook, Marcus Corowa, Julia Dray, Akina Edmonds, Nana Matapule, Cameron MacDonald, Lorinda Merrypor, Joseph Naim, Ruvarashe Ngwenya, Naomi Price, Rebecca Selley, Sean Sinclair, Angelina Thomson and Chloé Zuel.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical charts the true story of the legendary singer’s journey from teenage songwriter to international superstar.

Director Marc Bruni has praised the newly assembled Australian cast saying; “In the three years since we opened on Broadway we’ve taken Beautiful to London and toured across the US, finding some remarkable performers to bring this story to life. We’re proud to grow our family with this phenomenal Australian company – superb actors with exceptional voices who really did make the earth move under our feet in the audition room!”

 

Matt Edwards

Matt is a past owner of AussieTheatre, working as digital director from 2011 to 2019. He is also a performer, most recently appeared in the Australian tour of Mamma Mia! and previously in the Australian/NZ tour of CATS and Enda Markey's acclaimed production of Blood Brothers. As well as performing Matt keeps himself busy in the digital side of the arts working with web design agency Emptyhead Digital
