Full cast announced for Hayes Theatre Co’s High Society – season extended!

Sydney’s Hayes Theatre Co is moving from strength to strength as it steadily cultivates a thriving musical theatre exploration that is starting to be felt around the country. Now High Society is on the horizon, and the season has already been extended: it will play from 4 September – 3 October.

High Society is coming to the Hayes!

Directed by Helen Dallimore and with musical direction by Daryl Wallis, the still-new company will be putting its best foot forward with this classic Cole Porter musical. And the cast!

Joining the already announced Amy Lehpamer (Tracy Lord), Bert LaBonté (CK Dexter Haven), Bobby Fox, and Virginia Gay are: Scott Irwin (George Kittredge), Laurence Coy (Uncle Willie), Russell Cheek (Seth Lord), Jessica Whitfield (Dinah Lord), Phillip Lowe (Chester), Michelle Barr (Mavis), and Delia Hannah (Margaret Lord).

Set Design will be by Lauren Peters, with costume design by Lucetta Stapleton. The show will be choreographed by Cameron Mitchell.

High Society is an iconic movie musical and a Broadway blockbuster,” said producer Richard Carroll.

“We have assembled a marvellously talented cast to bring to life this delightful story and sparkling score.”

Based on The Philadelphia Story by Phillip Barry, the show is a corker: Tracy Lord invites you to the most elegant wedding of 1938. There’s 700 guests, an ocean of champagne, and a couple of pesky undercover journalists certain to turn the event from shindig into scandal. Only one thing remains uncertain – who exactly will be the groom?

If you aren’t familiar with the show, you might just know some of the classic Cole Porter songs: High Society, Ridin’ High, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, True Love, Let’s Misbehave, Just One of Those Things, and Well, Did You Evah!
