Producer John Frost will present a new Australian production of the musical Dr Zhivago next year.
And Sydney has won the right to host the premiere, with an official announcement confirming a February 19, 2011 opening date at the Capitol Theatre expected within the next few weeks.
Rehearsals will begin in December and auditions are being held throughout June and July.
Dr Zhivago is based on the novel by Boris Pasternak, first published in 1957.
The musical tells the story of Yuri Zhivago, a man torn between his love for two women, his wife Tonya and Lara the love of his life, while caught in the tumultuous course of early twentieth century Russian history.
