Festival fever! The Sydney Fringe is back once more

Over 250 shows. 75 venues. More than 1000 artists. It can only be one thing – the Sydney Fringe Festival.

Piff the Magic Dragon

With a new program released this week, the Sydney Fringe Festival is set to take off on September 7 with its unique and appealing position as a completely open access arts festival, available to everyone and everyplace across Sydney. And this year the Fringe really does mean every place – shows will take place across the inner west and over to Parramatta, as well as the Chatswood Concourse and the Sydney Opera House.

Featuring music, comedy, theatre, cabaret, visual art and film, the Sydney Fringe Festival is home to cutting-edge independent art from all walks of life. And with an average ticket cost of just $20, it’s one of the most affordable arts schemes in Sydney.

Highlights and headliners for this year’s festival include: Le Gateau Chocolat, starring the outrageous larger-than-life, operatic star of acclaimed La Soiree; Piff The Magic Dragon in Jurassic Bark, a sell-out show from the Edinburgh Fringe setting up home at the Sydney Opera House;  Damien Callinent from Spicks and Specks and The Fat in his successful comedy show The Merger; and Chaser co-founder Dominic Knight telling about getting arrested while filming CNNN.
