Fast+Fresh Dance now open for entries

Hot on the heels of its knockout 2011 season, Fast+Fresh Dancewill return in November to showcase short dance works choreorgaphed and performed by Sydney’s finest young talent.

FORM Dance Projects is seeking young choreographers and dancers to participate in the season hosted at Riverside Theatres Parramatta. Over the season more than forty dance works will be created and performed by emerging artists.

Part of the Short+Sweet family of festivals, this will be fourth year of Fast+Fresh Dance. There are three heat nights, which are judged on the night by a panel of industry professionals. The heat winenrs will present their works as part of the Gala Final on Saturday 17 November 2012.

All participants in Fast+Fresh Dance are eligible for sponsored awards such as Best Male Dancer, Best Female Dancer, Most Outstanding Choreography, Best New Talent, and the Audience Choice Award.

Returning spoonser Ausdance NSW, Sydney Dance Company and Dance Australia Magazine  are all offering great prizes to winners.  In keeping with the vibe of the festival, there are also professional secondments and filming sessions on offer, including with Dance Makers Collective and Cheese on Toast Productions.

The philanthropic community arts organisation Ars Musica Australis is also on board as a sponsor this year and has generously offered cash prizes for the Best Choreographer, Best Male Dancer and Best Female Dancer awards.

Submissions are now being sought from young choreographers and dancers to participate in this year’s season. All genres of dance will be considered as long as the choreography is innovative and original. DVD submissions are preferred.
