Foley is appearing in the ensemble of Mamma Mia!, which ends its season at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre early next month before heading on a national tour.
It is Foley’s third theatre appearance since leaving Hi-5, having appeared inJerry Springer The Musical and Grease On The Beach.
“After leaving Hi-5 in December 2008, I had a month off and went solo driving, and really thought about what I wanted to do,” Foley toldAussieTheatre.com.
“Mamma Mia! is just fantastic – I’m covering a couple of roles as well so that shakes things up a bit and makes it an even greater experience.”
Foley wants to stay in the entertainment world once the Mamma Mia! tour is over, but musicals may not be in his future.
“I’d love to go overseas and do some work but I’d also like to get back into television, moreso into acting,” he said.
“Hi-5 was a great experience, but I want challenges and do something different.”
Mamma Mia! is at the Lyric Theatre until February 4.
