Fallout comes to the Old Fitz this October

The world premiere of Fallout,a new production by a host of emerging creative talent, will be staged next month at the Old Fitzroy Theatre as part of the Tamarama Rock Surfers 2012 season.

The trials of youth come to the fore in Fallout. Image Supplied.

Four teenagers find themselves trapped in a sealed-off room. Watched by an unseen force, they must make their own rules as they try to earn their freedom.

Fallout is a sinister coming of age story about humanity’s relationship with violence and human connection, and explores how these change as we turn from children to adults.

Playwright Maree Freeman (recent NIDA graduate, Associate Director for Milk Crate Theatre Company) and director Kip Williams (Directing Associate for Sydney Theatre Company, Under Milk Wood) have combined forces to create a piece from some of the best up and coming Australian talents.

The cast includes Michele Durman (Packed to the Rafters), Amanda McGregor (Sydney Theatre Company’s Rough Draft), Gabriel Fancourt (atyp’s Punk Rock), and Lizzie Schebesta (Bell Shakespeare’s Macbeth).

Fallout incorporates elements of story telling, game-play and poetry to convey a haunted and dream-like tale seen through the of youth.

Fallout begins on 11 October 2012. For bookings and more information visit rocksurfers.org
