Exclusive: Twisted Broadway's full Sydney cast 2013

Twisted Broadway – Australia's topsy turvy musical theatre charity event – is heading to Sydney on Monday August 19 and AussieTheatre can exclusively reveal the full cast for the 2013 event.

Helmpann Award winner Helen Dallimore will join the cast of Twisted Broadway in Sydney.

Joining previously announced hosts Chloe Dallimore (The Addams Family) and Damien Bodie (Winners and Losers) on stage at NIDA's Parade Theatre will be 2013 Helpmann Award winner Helen Dallimore, musical theatre favourites Michael Falzon, Pippa Grandison, Avigail Herman, Lara Mulcahy, Ian Stenlake, Scott Irwin, Tom Sharah, the lovely nurses from South Pacific (Elise McCann, Erin James, Stefanie Jones, Allyce Martins, Danielle O'Malley, Caitlin Berry and Marika Aubrey) and many more!

Twisted Broadway has supported Oz Showbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for the past four years and has grown from a small scale charity concert in Melbourne to a highly anticipated date on both the Sydney and Melbourne arts calendars. The premise of the event is simple: Australia’s premier music theatre performers perform songs originally written for the opposite gender with hilarious and often moving results.

Sound fabulous? It really is, so read on!

Co-producer Kate Macdonald is thrilled with the cast assembled for Sydney show.

“After such a successful 2012 show we are thrilled to be back in Sydney for another year and we’ve been absolutely blessed with this fantastic line up”, she told AussieTheatre tonight.

This year, the 48-strong cast will be directed by Chris Parker (resident director of the upcoming Les Miserables) and the very talented Geoff Castles will lead a full orchestra as Musical Director. Each performer, musician and crew member are donating their time and talents to help raise money for this wonderful cause and by the sound of the set list (which we want to keep under wraps so you'll have some surprises left!) it's going to be a great night out!

“We have some vibrant song selections for you this year, and a stellar line up to deliver them” said director Chris Parker.

“With Chloe Dalimore and Damien Bodie to guide us through the night I think it's going to be a real treat. Not to mention a 19-piece orchestra lead by the incredible Geoff Castles”, he said.

Sydney-siders, clear your diaries, book your tickets and come along to Twisted Broadway on Monday 19 August – it's going to be a gender-bended evening of awesome!
