Episode 4 – Inside the Australian Ballet

In 2012 Australia’s national ballet company – The Australian Ballet – celebrates its 50th birthday.

The company have launched a 10 part web series entitled A Year Inside The Australian Ballet as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations, and today we bring you part 4.

This this episode, dancer Jake Mangakahia takes a class of aspiring Baryshnikovs as part of Boys’ Day, and reflects on his own dance journey (which started in the womb!) and the importance of inspiring the next generation.

The 10 part series follows both 28 year old Senior Artist Amy Harris, and 20 year old Corps de ballet member Jake Mangakahia as they move through this Golden Anniversary year with the company.

Next month we will be posting episode 5, so our readers can learn more about the ins and outs of life within Australia’s National Ballet Company
