Elaine Paige announces Australian concert tour

Britain’s first lady of musical theatre Elaine Paige has announced a series of concerts downunder this October, which will see her perform songs from her illustrious career alongside an array of her favourite tracks by contemporary songwriters.

The tour follows on from the huge success of Elaine’s last series of concerts in the UK in 2016 and 2017, which had audiences and critics alike rising to their feet in praise.

I’m so excited about taking this concert to more venues across the globe. It allows me to do something completely different celebrating songwriters I love such as Harry Nilsson, Jim Webb, Burt Bacharach, Lennon & McCartney, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber … the list goes on… as well as many of my hits such as ‘I Know Him So Well’, ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ and of course my signature ‘Memory’. This music has been the soundtrack to all our lives, not just mine. And it’s the ideal opportunity to perform in an intimate way.” Said Elaine Paige

Elaine has performed live in concert all over the world and as a recording artist has worked with legendary producers such as Tony Visconti, Dennis Lambert, Peter Matz, & Phil Ramoneamong others and has released 22 solo albums (4 multi-Platinum and 9 Gold,) been featured on 7 cast recordings and has had major worldwide hits with songs such as Memory (Cats) and I Know Him So Well (Chess.)

As a musical theatre performer Elaine Paige has made a major contribution to the modern musical. She has starred in more smash hit West End & Broadway musicals than anyone else of her generation and continues to present the hugely successful weekly BBC Radio 2 show Elaine Paige on Sunday, now approaching its 15th year on air, which is devoted to musical theatre and film music, and continues to delight audiences of over 2.5 million listeners each week across the UK.
