Disney developing BEAUTY AND THE BEAST prequel series

Disney+ is set to make a prequel series centred around Gaston and LeFou, said a report by The Hollywood Reporter.

Luke Evans and Josh Gad are set to reprise their roles from the 2017 live-action remake of the musical.

The series will be released on Disney+, which is already the home of the original 1991 movie, the 2017 remake, and an episode of Encores focused around the stage production.

The six episode miniseries comes from Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, with Gad also serving as co-creator, writer, and showrunner.

It will follow the pair before the events of the original 1991 film. There are no reports of other cast members from the 2017 remake returning to the series.
