Rockdale Musical Society presents the hit Broadway musical version of one Hollywood’s best loved comedies, the thrilling, funny,  and romantic Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from March 11 to 19 at Rockdale Town Hall.

Based on the smash 1988 film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centres on two con-men living on the French Riviera. The first is the suave and sophisticated Lawrence Jameson, who makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money.

The other, a small-time crook named Freddy Benson, swindles women more humbly by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health.

After meeting on a train, they unsuccessfully attempt to work together only to find that this small French town isn’t big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, the sweet and naive heiress Christine Colgate, wins the bet and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues, that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!

With an A+ production team, led by director Jay James-Moody (Jerry Springer: the Opera, Spamalot, [title of show], Reefer Madness and Forbidden Broadway), musical direction by Greg Jones and choreography by Joel Duffy, the cast features Chris Hamilton, Max Newstead, Jessica Burns, Patricio Ulloa, Michelle Landsdowne and Tanya Boyle.

Plus a large all-singing, all-dancing ensemble of twenty more!

Performances are at Rockdale Town Hall, Cnr Princess Highway and Bryant Street at 8pm on Friday 11, Saturday 12, Wed 16, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March plus 2pm matinees on Sunday 13 and Saturday 19 March.

Tickets $35 ($30 conc), family passes (2 adults + 2 children) $100 (additional children $25). $1 booking fee applies to each ticket. Great group discounts also available. Inquiries and bookings 9591 3395 or visit  www.rockdalemusicalsociety.com
