The new home for Darlinghurst Theatre Company

In 2013, the Darlinghurst Theatre will open the doors of its new home, the Etenity Playhouse.

One of Sydney’s leading independent theatre companies, Darlinghurst Theatre Company has been working with the City of Sydney since 2009 to create a more sustainable theatre venue – a new home. After years of planning and redevelopment, the Eternity Playhouse will open and be ready to go.

Since 2009, the Darlinghurst Theatre – one of Sydney’s leading independent theatre companies –  have been working with the City Of Sydney to create a more sustainable theatre venue and home.

Located on the corner of Burton and Palmer streets in Darlinghurst, the Eternity Playhouse is at the site of the former Tabernacle, which has been restored to create a world-class theatre for artists and the community.

A representative for the Darlinghurst Theatre Company said “At our new home we’ll continue our work collaborating with theatre artists to develop seasons of outstanding artist driven theatre….but we’ll do it better.”

Since 2009, the Darlinghurst Theatre – one of Sydney’s leading independent theatre companies –  have been working with the City Of Sydney to create a more sustainable theatre venue and home.

The Eternity Playhouse will allow Darlinghurst Theatre Company to develop an exemplary and professional theatre platform in support of more than 100 outstanding theatre artists every year. Following the move, the Darlinghurst Theatre Company will donate the current theatre’s fit out to the City of Sydney, who will investigate ways of retaining the theatre for the community.
