Come From Away to hit Melbourne in 2019

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed today that the hit musical Come From Away will be coming to Australia.

Set to open at the ‘soon to be refurbished’ Comedy Theatre in July 2019, Come From Away is produced by Rodney Rigby (New Theatricals) who has had great success with the show on Broadway and Toronto.

Based around true events that took place on September 11, 2001, when American airspace was closed and 38 planes carrying 7,000 passengers were ordered to immediately divert and land in the small, rural Canadian community of Gander, Newfoundland.

Come From Away is coming to Victoria

On September 11, 2001, 38 planes carrying 7,000 passengers were ordered to immediately divert and land in the small, rural Canadian community of Gander. Locals called it 'The Day The World Came to Town'.That story eventually became one of the biggest Broadway hits of the last decade. And now, I'm so proud to confirm that Come From Away is coming exclusively to Victoria in 2019.
