CIRCA welcomes new international development manager

After an extensive global search to fill the role of International Development Manager, Circa is proud to announce the appointment of Lauren Eisinger.

Circa Executive Director Shaun Comerford said the company received over 90 applications from all over the world for the position. “We conducted an exhaustive international search for this role, and in the end, found the perfect candidate, an Aussie living in London,” he said.

Originally from Sydney, Lauren is now based in London where she has been working as Festival Programmer and Producer for Underbelly; programming 600 shows a year in their festivals across the UK.

Prior to moving overseas, Lauren was Project Manager for Sydney Festival, programming Circus City and working on large-scale outdoor events including Symphony Under the Stars. She has toured circus and theatre work across Australia through her independent company, Lauren Eisinger Productions.

“Lauren’s extensive expertise in theatre and circus production and programming, and experience working in international markets make her the perfect fit,” Mr Comerford said

It has been a big year for Circa.  On October 10, at a gala event in Brisbane City Hall, Circa was awarded the Premier of Queensland’s Export Award for the creative industries.  The Company will now represent Queensland in the national export awards at Parliament House in Canberra on December 3.

In a development which Artistic Director and CEO, Yaron Lifschitz has described as transformative, Circa have been invited to join the Major Performing Arts (MPA) companies, as the MPA framework undergoes major reformation.

Humans

Currently in Melbourne for tonight’s opening of Circa’s season of Humans, Lauren said she was thrilled to be joining the company at such an exciting time.

“I’m so inspired by the virtuosic work and the fearless nature of Circa I can’t wait to bring new ideas to life and reach new people and places across the globe,” she said.

The MPA announcement capped off an epic year for Circa, which included a nine-month international tour and major collaborations with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Opera Queensland.
