Chicago is heading to Melbourne

Producers confirmed last week the Chicago the Musical will be heading to Melbourne later this year.

Following its premiere season at the Capitol Theatre Sydney in August, the production will move to QPAC in Brisbane. Chicago will head south to the State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne to be the 2019-2020 Summer Musical, opening December 13.

The previously announced cast includes Natalie Bassingthwaighte as Roxie Hart, Alinta Chidzey as Velma Kelly, and Casey Donovan and the tough prison warden Mama Morton. For more cast information read our full cast announcement.

The Kander & Ebb musical has been seen by over 31 million people worldwide in 36 countries and is the winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy Award. Chicago continues to play on Broadway and around the world in multiple languages and is the longest-running American musical in Broadway and West End history.
